*Also thought of a mechanism, if the two points of energy meeting together to create an explosion can be lasers, instead a moving shield,

the optics can be protected by an inner tunnel that is deeply concaved into the shields themselves. Though then the angles can't be changed so, the optics would slide into the tunnel made for itself once the angles and explosion is achieved.

While the shield itself remains a shield.

And in that 'tunnel' which would be small hollow points made for the optics,

can be closed in depth once the optics are slid out of the way.

This is faster than large shields moving mechanically...
