Another idea.

Imagine two fidget spinners with its ball bearing mechanism,
that is designed to have hardly any friction.

Whether the center is, (where you hold it with your fingers)
imagine a cylinder going through it. Which will act as both housing for

motor and passengers. Two ends of the cylinder is connected to the tower like a tram,

feeding  off power, while ends of the two spinners is connected to the tower as in gears.

is that any better than normal mechanism of motor-gear climb directly from cylinder?

well, mechanically, its two giant gears, dedicated in its entire ring segment. So as compared to smaller gears to the sides of one cylinder... though it can be made robust and big,

probably two gears and two cylinders connected as one, is far safer........

if that makes sense..... anyway i gotta sleep.

 

 

and if there are two towers side by side,

and many of these passenger carrying machines,

it can cycle up and down like a vertical race track.

carrying people on board slowing down or stopping as it reaches destination.

cylinders now on horizontal position, like a plane,

need not worry about finding their place vertically.

just enter and find a seat.

but while this will work, how fast it will be to reach 100km is another question.

answer i think is, fast as the motor. so faster than i am expecting.......
