will let it escape the ship without collision to the loop itself.

Because there is nowhere to collide to.

Although the direction would be approximate since it may be moving too fast.

and it may still require propulsion of some kind of change its direction and to slow it down.

That means, the lasers will have to be precise in such a way that accelerates the ship by shooting at it. Either the laser will constantly be turned on and the accelerating ship is further accelerated when it contacts, because the lasers are in a certain directional trajectory/angle.

OR the lasers are shooting at the moving ship, in repeat. Able to detect it or just shooting in repeat so fast that, the ship has no choice but to catch it. But it would have to be at angle that
can only help the ship accelerate once it hits. Not against it.

So when the lasers are shooting, it would be synched exactly at the same rate. So either hit or miss. When it hits, it accelerates.
