but didn't I use protruding mechanism from the shell of the digging machine before as well?

I think instead placing panels to prevent collapse of walls,

I may have been trying to push against the walls with the panels,

so the front mining head, protrudes and changes its angles in the dig.

So it can move in all directions. Not entirely certain.

But yeah I think tried the same mechanism was used before as well.

 

*Also, when then panels are welded, it has to detach from the machine's

protruding poles, so I think if the poles can spin/rotate by itself and unscrew itself

to be detached. That's probably the best method.
