It can still be protected from the elements (like wind) depending on how the cubes are designed in the area near to the slopes or have the protective arch, the tunnel built, as in my first presentation if necessary.
What I do know is that, while building, the tracks that goes inside the cubes (for welding) won't be affected, as there are no cubes that are pressing it down as it is being welded.
It is built by layer by layer, when the upper level isn't present. Only when it is complete,
or as it stack up, the sheer weight will indeed compress it. So the tracks will be affected.
So for the main slope area, probably better not to have the tracks at all.
Unless, the tracks are something that is quite flexible by width and the machines would have to adjust to the tracks by an retracting mechanism that extends to the tracks side to side, as it moves up. Of which then, steeper slope can be used, and so will electricity through those slopes, other than relying on a charging station for the machines.
