It shouldn't fold. The shell stays as it is, and only the main core cylinder

 

(the jet engines, battery) should be pushed out following a track.

 

And then, self-maintenance like, automatic fire-extinguishers should follow.

 

And preventive/protective measures against errors of the main core applied

 

on to the shell itself as well.
