glue is enough to fuse the wood together, enough for CNC machine or handheld router

to shape it into anything it needs, without seeing it breaking apart.

 

but the glue itself, that too, has weight. So lighter glue if probable.

 

Several layers of then this resin follows as coating,

 

then maybe another layer of 'hydrophobic' coating to repel the water better.
