Mr Musk, as the line falls deeper into the depths,

maybe that line needs to be extended,

as it goes down. if one ship can't handle the length of the line.

it depends on the thickness of the line, but assuming,

electrical currents will be running through it,

and some protection wrapped around it...

another ship may need to interlock and extend it while it goes down,

and if it becomes too heavy for one ship to work with it,

then another ship must interlock together to create higher buoyancy...

my guess....
