one could place the laser on the top half,

and dedicate the bottom as just the resting place.

 

and have the laser following a guideline,

like a 3D printer.

 

but since you need i think a type of lubricant

with it, (if i can recall what works with the laser)

used on the body,

 

the 'mattress' portion will need cleansing,

which will be somewhat difficult as it's a material that

needs cushioning, and will probably absorb those lubricants

over time.

 

if it's a flatbed, easy to clean,

and much easier with the engineering,

 

minus the comfort.

 

but i will leave the choice to the people designing......
