To criticize who Mark, my cousin is.

 

Being a devoted Christian, I doubt he does much wrong

in his personal life.

 

Rather the wrong I see...

 

Is in his calculation of his standing,

because of acceptance, by this extended family.

 

That because he is praised,

he feels a sense of belonging.

 

When even his own mother curses at them

for their callousness.

(I see and experienced more than this)

 

So when Mark sees wrong,

when that family does something wrong on me.

 

He's the one who won't refute.

Even join in the fun behind my back.

 

That, I see as cowardice.

 

Yeah, he will fight this claim.

 

But he knew what was going on.

 

Assumption, discrimination, prejudice.

All covered in politeness,

but mocking, behind my back.

when I was alone, already fearing their judgement.

 

But you've always known what kind of people they are.
