I would advise we try and aim at building the space escalator in Mars as well.

 

Then mine the heck out of Mars by using the laser.

 

And my method of automation.

 

Bring that back on Earth to build.......

 

 

You can imagine what can happen.

 

 

 

That may actually be a priority before the Mars colonization,

 

as most part of that material gathering is about building within Mars as well.

 

 

 

Sadly, unless the magnetosphere(?) can be created by use of another type of laser,

the radiation will persist.

 

If to use the space escalator on Mars, using resource from Mars,

maybe it is possible to create these machines to affect/create the magnetosphere as well

as the habitat.
