Well, Mr Musk, using the fundamental principles of the space escalator,

it probably could be possible to build a complete cubical ascension,

which will provide immeasure space within, but also, a gigantic waste

of material. if the tracks can be built to the sides, using gears,

one cube could fall on top of the next, but there's need for many tracks

per cube to all directions, and just.... gigantic waste of material.

if you mean to use the outer edges of the escalator to support,

much like the trebuchet idea.... .....also, unnecessary.
