if the vertical rod is too high and likely to tip over the landmine remover,

 

then it can be placed flat on top of the machine,

until it is unslid into new angle to be inserted into the ground.

 

or doesn't necessarily have to be one very long rod,

but 4 of them hidden inside the machine for re-positioning.
