I believe the context counts, and the previous

interaction between him and I. Despite accepting

the match, I had thought I could dismantle it to

an extent, not escalate to a serious one.

 

Thus my suggestions, and to my surprise, it was

refused. Then how mad was this person, and

to have fully used my wear (balance) issue against me,

even after having spoken about it just prior.

 

This was violence aimed at subjugation.

So I was quite surprised at that.

 

The worst I imagined was a 'shot for shot' as I say.

And I had thought he would agree as well.

It was safe, and fair. And both of us would have

let out 'steam'.

 

In the end, I believe that he aimed for violence.

It is no coincidence that these actions surfaced.
