when dvd's get scratched, it's not the metal layer that holds the data
but the outer plastic.... this can be removed with a scratch remover.
however the layer becomes that much thinner and closer to the metal layer.
so you can only do so, so many times....
if that is the case. can an artifical layer be added after the scratch is removed?
and not get in the way of the laser reading the data.
this is chemistry. of which i never experimented with.
a kind of coating around the DVD may work, but then.
it's probably just better to use another DVD disc.
just thinking about extending the life of DVDs.....
