New roommate.  Lulo. Age 41.

He is... very open, very friendly.

Unfortunately,

he has just told me he has schizophrenia....

and sometimes he sees things for a moment,

and voices have told him to hurt someone,

but he doesn't.

He, if you've heard from his phone,

our conversation. Speaks in a rather

erratic, anxiety driven way, with certain

'expressions', very.... unnatural.

Immediately he asked me "If i can go with you"

when I told him I go to the library everyday,

and that he claims he is "mentally retarded".

While also saying he speaks 3 languages.

So...... How can I interpret this situation,

not to judge, but to observe. To understand....

I am going to show him around and give him access

to the library and this new place where one can get free food.

This...doesn't necessarily guarantee me safety but,

I must try my best.

He seems like someone with a good heart,

but haunted by his own mental illness

and possibly, lack of awareness (intelligence).

Shook my hand 5 times now.

Saying "you are my family" and all,

when I told him I don't have one.

In any case, because he seem a bit too friendly,

breaching certain distance people are used to,

I told him to keep some distance to everyone

because they may find it disturbing (in a friendly way)

In any case, I think,....

it'll be alright.

Yes, I am slightly worried but statistically,

should be no issue.
